Do People Really Care About the Size of Your Laptop?
The question in computing has become, "Does physical size really matter or is it more important to have a computing machine that allows you to fit every piece of software and save as many data files as will fit on your computing device?" Another point of concern may be whether the small sizes are more worthwhile or if the light-weight portability is the key matter. I think the accessibility of different types of portable computers today lets us really personalize our computers into something that works for us and doesn't have to be run of the mill for everyone.
The production release of the new macbookair by Apple has really given us a selection with the size and what kind of computer we carry around with us to work. At less than 3 pounds and less than an inch thick, we don't have to strain our muscles every time we walk to work. It has a 13 inch wide-screen and a normal keyboard. Tell me where I can get it today! This is the very quality I have been seeking.
When I first saw the pitch for the MacBook Air with a slim, easy to handle computer coming out of that envelope, I was just amazed. Now, that's what I've been hunting for. Now it doesn't have to be a major undertaking to take my laptop with me anymore! No extra bag that can weigh almost as much as the computer, no more sweating, no longer taking up so much extra room! What a marvel!
The frequently asked question of whether size is relevant is here now and my answer, when it comes to a compact laptop is a resounding, "yes, Yes, YES!" Size does matter as does weight. For me and my mobile computer smaller is certainly better.
